Winter Solstice Festival

Hi there...
I had a great Winter Solstice Festival this year.
Went back to my parents place to have reunion lunch, and reunion dinner at our own place at night. Also did groceries shopping at One U after lunch.

After that, met his best friend for a drink... can spot him ar?

Rushed home to have reunion dinner. After dinner, we headed straight to Jaya One to watch Xiang Sheng (crosstalk). Took some videos during the show.

I am on MC today. At last I have time to blog!
No more "siew lai lai" life as I started working T_T. Have to wake up at 6.30am on my working days. Gosh, it has been years I never wake up that early, when was the last time? I guess it was during my secondary school time. But, okloh... Everything is back to normal now! Wake up early, sleep early, drive to work. Practising a healthy lifestyle.

What's new lately?
Got a new dog.
The black one is my dog - "baby"
The other one is my new dog - "fei zai" (fatty) - Super "big eat" (which means big eater just in case u donno)

Must "watch" them all the time, make sure they don xxx.
Two dogs is more than enough for me, I cant afford to have more!
Ooi! two of u, doing what? Stop that! Baby, go back to your cage now....

Chinese Herbs

My boss lent me a Chinese medicine book. A very good book that explain A-Z about Chinese Herbs. But, in order to take the correct Chinese herbs, you have to know what type of body you belongs to. HOT or COLD, YING or YANG, and the 5 elements of WOOD, FIRE, WATER, EARTH or METAL.

My theory:
Too much heaty food will cause pimples, sore throat and ulcers.
Too much cooling food will cause period pain.

My questions:
How do I determine my body type?
Is better to take more heaty food or cooling food?
How do I maintain a "Neutral" body type?
I always feel cold, does it mean that I have a cold body?
I always have breakouts, does it mean that my body is too heaty?

My Train Journey

Have been traveling on weekly basis for almost 3 years. It's really tiring. I think it is about time for me to take some rest. I am tired on traveling, I am tired of the "mm seh dak" feelings whenever I say goodbye to my family members and my dear. Cant afford to be apart with them anymore. Tired of facing 4 walls alone in my rented room after work, with no internet connection. Hate the feelings of eating alone, and that's the main reason why I skip breakfasts and dinners.
Buying coach and train tickets in advance is another headache for me. I have to keep track on long weekends, or school holidays and make sure that I buy the tickets 2 months in advance! This year is considered 'not so tiring' for me because I changed job, and I take the straight bus from SG to KL. 2 years before that, due to my "kiamsiap-ness", I go all the way to JB to get my express bus to KL because I can pay in Ringgit which is much much more CHEAPER! If I take a straight bus from SG to KL it will cost me $33 (around RM80), but if I take a bus from JB, it costs me about RM30 only!!! Can u see the different? RM50 different!!! I can save up to RM200 a month!!! But it takes 2 hours for me to reach Larkin (JB's bus terminal) from Singapore. I really salute myself, I cant believe I actually spending so much time on the bus and I am doing it every week!
For the past 10 months. Instead of taking a bus from KL - SG on every Sunday afternoon, I take night train now. Although it takes longer hours to reach (11 hours) compare to bus journey which is only 6 hours, I don't mind because I can sleep in the train as long as the berth is not near to the coach exit. But still have to be alert while sleeping, I got to make sure that I don't sleep like a pig because I have to take care of my belongings and my passport.
Ever since the H1N1 virus is spread in Malaysia, I have to be extra careful. Got to make sure I wear a mask when I am in the train. I don't care if people call me "kiasi". Better to be safe than sorry.

Long train journey, newspapers (Wan Pao) is always my travel companion.

Oh no! I gained weight!
Healthier lifestyles - No coffee, have proper meals (I started taking breakfasts and dinners), and I have stopped taking icy drinks. Didn't know that I actually gained weight by practicing a healthier lifestyle! Should I stop? Should I?

Dear was saying the other day, "I am such a good example for others cos I have lost so much weight, but look at you! Look at your stomach! Aiyoh... How am I supposed to take you out and tell others that you are my spouse?"

I was so sad after I hear all these words... Why it takes only 2-3 weeks to gain weight, but it takes forever to lose weight?

What should I do now?
Should I start taking coffee again?
Should I skipped my breakfasts and dinners again?
Wanted to go for sauna last Saturday in my Condo, but saw a "under treatment" memo in the sauna room... I think I need to start exercise! 30 minutes a day! I need to go to the gym and workout! I hope I won't see "close for maintenance" memo in the gym room. Otherwise I am going to complain! Paid maintenance fee monthly, but these cannot be used and that one out of order! What is all these?

I must control my food intake.... must eat lesser from today onwards...
I cant afford to gain more weight!

Oh ya... I need to 'replenish' my skin care products...
Should I top up what I am currently using? - Clinique 3 steps
Or should I change to Biotherm or maybe SKII?
My mama is using SKII, I feel like using it too.

So, what is your opinion?

Long weekend - SG National day

Singapore National Day - my long weekend in KL.

Stuck it both Singapore and Malaysia customs on Friday night - Nearly 1 hour.
Then stuck in traffic jam before Simpang Renggem all the way to Machap - 2 hours and 30 minutes! Reached KL around 3.30am only!!! What a long journey for me T___T Then went to mamak to have Dosai for my dinner...

Saturday - Took mom out for breakfast, then went back home surfed net the whole afternoon. Evening - meet friends for dinner at Center Point followed by a drink in TTDI plaza. Did not enjoy the food at Pizza Uno as I was having a big ulcer and it was so painful. Oh ya, Mok joined us at TTDI plaza that night. Felt happy because this is the first time he joined my friends after years of being together. I ordered Orange juice which was more expensive than beer... T___T

Sunday - Had lunch at One-Noodles Chinese restaurant with Mok. After lunch, we walked in to a pharmacy, I got myself OralAid and Mok bought a Omron blood pressure monitor for his father. Then we went to Coffee Bean, Mok ordered Cappuccino and I had Natural New Zealand frozen yogurt for dessert - I have stopped coffee... After Mok had gone to work, I spent time with my family. Had dinner at home, and surfed net the whole night. Met Mok again at night after he finished work. We went to Puchong to visit his friends.

Monday - Woke up at 11.15am. Took mom out for breakfast. Went to the Bank and Honda to settle some issues... Had crabs for dinner, yummy! After that my papa sent me to KL Sentral to catch my train.

And that's the end of my long weekend...
Sorry guys... I donno what to blog about, and I decided not to upload food photos for some time because this is not a food blog, I am supposed to blog about my daily life...

Tian Xiang Hui Wei Steamboat - Pudu

Celebrated my papa's birthday last week.
Went to this "Tain Siang Hei Wei" - I donno how they pin yin, maybe they follow Taiwan's dialect pronunciation.
It was the most expensive steamboat that I have tried...
RM500 for 7 adults and 3 kids... Heartache till now... T___T

This is the coupon that I bought...
Paid RM500 but get RM750 worth of coupon in return - we have already used RM500 voucher that night.

This is the soup base - herbal soup. The soup itself already cost us RM38. But I think they did not put MSG because I drank quite a lot but I did not feel thirsty after that. One good thing about the steamboat is, the soup is nice, and you do not need any dipping sauce...

RM500 for steamboat is a bit too expensive... T__T
No prawns no crabs...
Only, some fish balls, sliced meat, tofu, yam, corn (one corn costs us RM7!!!), meat balls and some noodles... They claimed this as 养生(healthy) ...

Since I still have some coupons left, will go there again - probably for the last time...

Note: 10% of service charge and drinks need to pay by cash... The vouchers only can be used for food...

Stop drinking coffee?

It is time to say bye bye to my daily freshly brew...

Thinking of having a cup of hot honey lemon now...

Trying to stop coffee...
I am addicted to coffee since I was 16, thanks to PMR...
Although I am addicted to it but I limit myself to drink only one cup a day - to wake me up in the morning.
It is time for me to detox... Thinking of stopping coffee for a while... I have done this before, I am sure I can do this again. Will be having headache for the first few days, but after that, it will be OK. Used to substitute coffee with HL milk, but now I substituting coffee with Milo (the one with Hi-Cal).
Hmmm... wondering what can I drink when I go to Coffee bean or Starbucks next time... I have stopped ice too, so no sunrise or frappicino for me. Hmm... Will order my all time favourite Eark Grey tea only... err... but tea contains caffeine too... hmmm...will see. Maybe only hot chocolate. Or maybe I shall also stop Coffee Bean and Starbucks yum char sessions...

I have been very busy lately! OT every night including weekends. Worked non-stop for more than 27 hours. Extremely tired and exhausted! No proper meals, no enough sleep, home sick some more ... T___T
But, thank god! It is all over now. Project done, back to normal now. Reached home around 1 a.m. yesterday night. Over slept today, but never mind, got permission to come in late today. :P

Anemia???

I have been suffering from bad flu that caused by my sensitive nose like err.. once a week. And I got it again yesterday. Nearly finish the whole box of tissues! Wanted to go and see the doctor but the clinic near my office was closed, and by the time I left office, it was like 9pm, the clinic near my house was closed too (I know yesterday was Sunday, but I was working T__T). So, I went to see the doctor this morning. Was asked to wear a mask by the so called doctor's secretary or whatever because I was having flu. Okay, it is the time for me to show some social responsibility again.

I think the doctor did not recognize me. Otherwise she would have asked:" You again ar, what can I do for you today?". I have been visiting her quite often, like once every 10 days. I told her my problem, then she asked about my diet (eating habits), and my menstruation details (I was a bit shy when I answered this) and she concluded that 'maybe' I am suffering from Anemia. Why did I say 'maybe'? Because no blood test was done! How can she confirmed that I have Anemia, right? But she is a doctor, so I better listen than ignore.

Anemia - A very new word to me...
Anemia - also known as "Lack of blood" and "Low in Iron".

Got these iron tablets from the doctor.
I have not taken it yet. Got scared after I read the descriptions...
The First line:
Color stool black??? Means what? Does it means my stool will contain blood? It sounds scary to me.
The second line:
Not with milk or calcium...
I did not take it because I had fish soup for lunch, and the fish soup contained milk... :P In other words: Too kiasi

The tablets have to be taken on alternated days. hmmm...
Shall I take them or shall I just take more meat instead???

Yong Tau Fu...

Wednesday is my Yong Tau Fu day.
Singapore Yong Tau Fu is one of my favorite food. I like it not because it can beat Ampang Yong Tay Fu (Malaysian food still taste better), I like it simply because it is not oily (it depends of what u pick, I always go for non-fried).

Price varies from place to place.
If you go to food courts in malls, it is slightly more expensive. 7 pieces of Yong Tau Fu with rice or beehoon/noodles/kuayteow is around $3.50.
But if you go to food court near HDB then it is $0.30 per piece.
As you can see from the below picture, there are so many choices. Just pick a few pieces that you like, then decide whether you want it with soup or dried. Dried means they will boil the Yong Tau Foo that u have picked, and then give it to u. After that you have to put Sweet sauce and chili sauce (Chee Cheong Fun type).

My all time favorite...
All non-fried...

I like yong tau fu with soup...
And I always opt for spring onion instead of fried onion because I dont like oily food.

Japanese SABA Bento in Bugis

Had dinner with Chloe and Iris the other day in Bugis. Both me and Chloe are Libra. From what I read from Horoscope, Libra can't make decisions and can't choose. So, it gave me and Chloe a hard time on choosing what to eat that night. This happen to us every time when we go out to have dinner. Iris ordered her all time favorite KimChii noodles from the Korean stall.

Finally we decided what we want to eat!!!

Donno what tea. It tasted like coffee... T__T

This one ok lah. If it does not taste nice, then can only blame the dressings company, not the stall.

My first Sony Ericsson

I got a gift from my dear last week...

This is my first Sony Ericsson mobile and I have yet to familiar with the user interface.
But I like the sports features - The steps counter and calories counter. (I think he bought this phone because of these features, since he always complain that I am fat... T___T)
Since it is a Walkman phone, I am able to shuffle the songs when I shake the phone. Cool huh?

Why do I get flu so easily?

Lack of Vitamin? I take Vitamin C daily (1000mg) from GNC, and it is so expensive, but still I am getting flu... Doctor asked me to take more meat, and I did, I ate so much pork last weekend, but still *Achew....*(Sneezing)
Lack of sleep?
Too stressful?

And there are 49 H1N1 cases in SG. The worst thing is yesterday I went to the shopping mall which is next to Tan Tock Seng Hospital - Where all the patient are quarantined.

My family means so much to me!

Mom is preparing dinner for me, she will normally ask what I feel like eating then she will cook for me, and make sure that I will have a heavy dinner before I start my journey of heading back to SG. And she bought Lychee and durian for me today... T__T
Thanks mom!

Papa is always ready to send me here and there. Is not that I cant drive, but sometimes is just too difficult to find parking lot and too dangerous to withdraw money alone especially in KL... Snatch thieves everywhere! My dad knows that sometimes I will crave for ice cream or chocolate, he normally will buy some and put them in the fridge on Saturdays. Saturday afternoon is the time where I will make sure my mouth is occupied by something when I am staying at home. I can gain 2 kgs by just spending a weekend in KL...
Thanks pa! I will take u for a nice dinner next week! Happy father's day in advance!

My dear, he is part of my family too, at least by law. He will take me out for a good lunch followed by a good coffee every Sunday before he goes to work although Sunday is the only day he can wake up late but he insisted to wake up early to spend his time with me. As for Friday and Saturday nights he will spend his time with me after he finishes work until mid night (he finishes his work around 12am). Thanks dear! I know you are really tired after working for a long day... I love you!

I wanna share 焖猪肉 (Braised pork) recipe today.

Ingredients:

Pork Belly (Must use this one, cannot use lean meat)
Garlic
Light soya sauce
Thick soya sauce
Sugar

Step 1: Wash the Pork Belly
Step 2: Slice the pork, not too thin (about 2 cm)

Step 3: Slightly flatten the garlic

Step 4: Mix Garlic, meat, soya sauce in the pot. Turn on high until it begins to cook, then turn on low.

Step 5: Stir it every 5 minutes...
Step 6: Add in thick soya sauce and sugar
Step 7: Cook for another 15-20 minutes.

Ready to serve...

No air-cond in the office on Sunday! Centralized air-cond mah. Lucky got some fans in the office. I switched on the air cond in the server room, opened the server room door so that I can get some cool air from it. Thank god my desk is next to the server room...
No air-cond is one thing, another thing is all the cafeterias around are closed! I dapao Hainamese Chicken Rice from the food court near my house for my lunch, and it smells so good! Going to eat it later only, I just had coffee and I am still full now.

I miss KL so much! 3 more days to go...
Going to spend 5 days in KL, yeah!
Can't wait to go back now...

No more day dreaming, and that's why I am sitting in the office now! There is no such things as free lunch or free dinner. 'Moh Gum Dai Tsek Gup La Choi Gai Tiu' - There is no big frogs jumping on the street. - Old Chinese saying.

The reason of keeping long nail - vanity? No lah... just lazy to cut...
Remember that I had my first manicure not long ago? I am sort of addicted to it. Because it looks quite nice... But there are some disadvantages of keeping long nails...

Ya, I can still type, but sometimes with typo. Questions often asked by ex-colleagues are "How you type with your long nails?" "You too kiam siap to buy nail cutter or what" and ex-boss always said "I am going to cut your nails with these scissors tomorrow if you dont cut it tonight". Boss, I am superstitious mah, mama said cannot cut nails at night one... :P
My nails breaks easily if I don't polish them. I am no "qian jin xiao jie", I hand wash my clothes and I do housework too. When my nails breaks, it bleeds and it is really painful...
I have problem on placing my thumb on thumb print reader. I always use the automated gate in both Malaysia and Singapore checkpoints. There was once Chloe and I went to JB for shopping. I was stuck in the automated gate because I was unable to place my thumb properly on the thumb print reader.
I will have problem entering my office soon. Why? My company is using thumb print door lock. It will verify my thumb print before it opens the door and let me enter my office. "Open sesame" does not work for my office door. :P
Need to spend on manicure and nail polish...
Lesser PSP time! My nails are too long and it is difficult for me to press those buttons! My nail will hit the top button when I press the left button. When I try to press the CIRCLE button, but my thumb nail will hit on the TRIANGLE button. Long nail of PSP? Choose one!
No touch screen phones! I had a hard time when was asked to use touch screen phones to do some mobile application testing!
Difficult to cut veggies on the chopping board. I often accidentally cut my nails! If you found nails in my cooking dishes then... errr.... don't complain! or else, cook on your own!
I have problem on taking out my moisturizer from its bottle. I need to use another nail to 'dig out' the moisturizer that stuck between my nails before applying it to my face.
Can't really open canned drinks because I scared my nails will break. Thank god that I have good lunch mates who are willing to open it for me.
Easily scratch on things. My wallet, oh gosh, I really need to send it back for polish before I tear off its skin... I always accidentally scratch on baby's skin as well. Pity the baby that my mom babysits. Sorry ya...

I was wearing masks in the whole KL-SIN journey. Even in checkpoints! Since I used the automated gate, so I do not have to remove the mask and show my face to the officer. But, when I was in Johor checkpoint, the Malay officer checked my berth, I think I looked suspicious with mask, otherwise he would not have checked my berth rite? T___T

Opps... Spotted PSP on my working desk!No... I did not play during working hours one, but my colleague transfered a new game to my PSP this morning and I forgot to put it back into my bag.

Being stared like an alien when I was waiting for my train, but I don't care because I am too Kiasi. Malaysia has already got 2 confirmed H1N1 virus case, don't play play.... lol! And there are a lot of foreigners in the train especially Indians from India, they like to take train cos train is the main transportation in India. Before they landed in Malaysia I am sure they take flights, and it means there is a possibility that some of them are already infected with that virus. errr.... Maybe I think too much lah, but still preventions is better than cure mah...

Hanoi - Part 1

I miss Hanoi although I dont really like the place. Bad air conditions, roads are narrow, horrible traffic, found thieves in tourist attractions, don understand their language, and the list goes on......

The bad air caused my nose to bleed... T___T
Asked the tour guide why was the air so bad and looked hazy, he said:" It is fog." ME: Speechless... If the air quality is good hor, why most of the Vietnamese in Hanoi are wearing masks leh?

First destination after hotel check-in, it has been more than a year, I cant even remember the name of the place, the lake named Ho kiam lake or something if I am not mistaken...

Food wise: Their authentic breakfast is a kind of bread which is as hard as stone... Like French toast, just that the shape is different. For those who dont take beef, ask before u order, make sure the soup based is without beef. For those who take beef, do try their Beef Noodles...

Vietnamese coffee: Err... very bitter. By the time the coffee is brewed using the Metal drip filter, hot coffee will become warm coffee liow.... I personally dont really like it. But I bought the Metal drip filter and some Vietnamese Coffee powder...

You will not need an alarm clock in Hanoi. At 6a.m. sharp, you will be woken up by the horn. Good Luck!

The weather is so hot!!!
I am feeling like having a bottle of this Kampai Sparkling Fruit juice now - Non-alcoholic drinks.
Tried this during my Malacca trip and it was so refreshing.

Four types of flavour:-

Apple
Strawberry
Pineapple
Lemon

I tried the apple flavored one. Thumbs up...
In fact, wanted to buy some but can't find it in MaxValue and Coldstorage...

One of the headlines caught my eyes this morning when I was reading news from TheStar online.

MAS SELAMAT HAS BEEN NABBED

Mas Selamat who believed to be the leader for the jemaah Islamiah (JI) in Singapore, escaped from Singapore Changi Prison in February last year. Massive manhunt involving thousands of policemen was launched to hunt him down, but failed. He was the mastermind behind the plan to hijack an airplane and crash it into Changi airport, but failed also lah, if not he wouldn't be in the jail loh... Police also found documents and other paraphernalia that allegedly showed of their planned operation. Phew... Luckily he was arrested before he tries to 'bomb' Singapore again :P

Ok, will be a short post today, busy with work as I got to finish my work before I 'cabut'. Going back to KL to celebrate anniversary and mother's day... YEAH!!!

Human Swine Influenza (H1N1)

I am so Kiasi now...
Guess what? I am wearing mask! In fact, I bought one box of masks last weekend! Kiasi or not? Prevention is better than cure. Actually the reason I bought the masks was there are a lot of tourists in the train, as I will be in the "stuffy" cabin for about 11 hours, I did not want to take the risk, and decided to get some masks.

My colleague who sits besides me was having flu yesterday, and I got her virus, I am also having running nose now and keep on sneezing! My boss is coughing badly but he is in a separate room. Should I wear the mask whenever I go to crowded places and when I take public transport? If I do, then I will be treated like an alien, everyone will start pointing at me and say:" Look at that siow one, wearing mask, so kiasi..." I am Kiasi, so what?
Chances for the SWINE flu to be spread in Singapore is higher than Malaysia as there are more foreign investors in Singapore compared to Malaysia. Remember SARS and Bird Flu? SARS and Bird Flu cases were found in Singapore but not in Malaysia. But Malaysia got JE...

The symptoms for this H1N1 virus are high fever in the early stages followed by cough, sore throat, runny nose and sometimes breathlessness a few days later. And no evidence to suggest that swine flu can be transmitted to humans from eating pork or pork products that have been thoroughly cooked. It means we can still eat Bak Kut Teh, Bak Gua or Char Siew Pao...

Guys, wash your hand regularly with soap and water, and dry them thoroughly with disposable towels or hand dryer. You should also avoid touching someone else's used tissues and handkerchiefs...

Let's do our parts and fight the virus together!

Bali Trip - Day 4 (The Turtle Island)

We paid RP100,000 per person to visit The Turtle island, the trip took around 1 hour.
We were given a packet of breads to feed fishes as well as turtles...

His heaviest weight was 144kgs, yes 144 kgs!!! He is now 63kgs... months ago he was only 58kgs, he gained a bit these few months...

A good achievement! He was even being asked to give talk for a meal replacement company... But he rejected lah...

Don't ask me, go ask him...
Only he can tahan, no solid food for days...
Exercise is the main key...
And he used one and a half years in order to reach his ideal weight...

Conclusion: Those Gam Fei tablets, meal replacement, slimming course which say you can lose 10kg in a week or so are all lies!!! No such things as express gam fei formula, ok? It takes time...

Bali Trip - Day 4 (Beach time!)

Okay, day 4 - The Beach!
This is the day when I got my skin tanned!
I hate beach! No! It is suppose to be I hate the sun, I like the beach...
Now you guys know why I need to buy so many masks? To rescue my skin!!!
My skin is in a 'terrible, horrible & vegetable' condition now!!! - Terms taken from "I no stupid'... :P

My feet nearly turn 'cooked' when I walked to ride the "flying fish" beach activity...

The banana boat! I did not ride that, but dear's in law had so much fun riding on it! I ride the 'flying fish' instead... RM50 per ride.... so expensive to have the feeling of 'flying'... RM50 gone within 3 minutes...

OMG! I looked so ugly! I forgot my sun glasses! :( Everyone with sun glasses except me :(

My first French Manicure experience...
Swee boh???

Ya, I know I very the 'san pah', never do manicure in my life...
In fact, too kiamsiap to do. It has been more than one week ever since I had my very first manicure done, and my heart is still paining T______T
At first I would like to do pedicure, but I was wearing a flat pump, if I knew I am going to have pedicure, then i would have wore slippers... No choice, but to do manicure loh...
Remember that I said my shopping and eating plan with Chloe during the Good Friday long weekend? Manicure and Pedicure was not in our plan that day, we thought of having it out of a sudden. We even thought of perming our eye lashes but due to time constrain, we will do it in the next long weekend only, maybe Labour day weekend, or wesak day weekend...

Part of my stocks! I have more in Singapore... Xinji masks, and I am also expecting 'my whitening dairy' mask from Jezalmy...

I am crazy for masks lately...
Thanks dear for buying Garnier masks for me (I too 'kiamsiap' to buy, Garnier is a bit expensive compared to other masks, I "mm seh dak" buy, so he bought 10 boxes for me, enough for one month use. Thanks, darling! T____T)
I bought 2 packs of my favorite masks, Dainty Design, and 2 more boxes from Watson's. I have more than enough masks to be used for the next three months...

Bali Trip - Day 3 ~ Night...

Okay, back to Bali post...
Day 3 was the most tired day during the trip, maybe because of the hot weather. As you can see in my Bedugul post and Tanah Lot post, you can barely see my eyes in those pictures, because it was too hot, I was unable to open my eyes! Call me puteri lilin, I melt under the sun! I easily get sick if I walk under the sun for too long...

Okay... Dinner time!
We were brought to this restaurant, the so called "authentic Balinese" restaurant...

Look nice, and for sure you can donate some of your blood to mossies...

Tah Dah!
Authentic Balinese Food! The rice was rolled in the banana leaf, sambal, raw long beans, cucumber, cabbage, tomatoes, soup, fried bean cake, and fried 'mini' fish (but bigger than anchovies).

After dinner, we asked the driver to drop us at HardRock Cafe because I want to do some shopping... We both looked so tired, in fact we forced ourself to smile.

Back to Hotel. Dear went for a swim, and I gave myself a hot bubble bath... So nice... Washed away my tiredness. And I am ready to go for a drink!
4 of us 'sneaked' out from the hotel after dear's parents back to their hotel room.
Dear ordered this "Sex on the beach" cocktail for me...
Errr... We did walk to the beach after the drinking session, but just walk only! Nothing more than that, ok? lol

Office is extremely quiet, I can even hear my own heartbeats.
Watching "Dai Dong Gua" (The Big Wintermelon), the Hong Kong drama, it makes me feel like cooking "dong gua jong" this coming Saturday... or maybe will cook double boiled chicken with D.O.M. Oh gosh... why am I thinking of food only? I am suppose to detox this week!!! Sigh... I don't think I can do it! So, forget about it. :P Or maybe I can change my eating habits instead, like stop eating fried food, curry, oh I got to say bye bye to my favorite Singapore Laksa.
Oh ya, I found my new love - Pumpkin porridge! Yummy! Yummy! Pumpkin porridge with pork ribs... I am a porridge lover, I like to cook porridge with lots of ingredients. Mom always stock up onions, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, sweet corns, dried scallops and dried oysters for me so that I can cook porridge anytime. I wish I am in KL now, cooking porridge in the kitchen! T______T

Good Friday is a public holiday in Singapore, don't have to envy, Malaysia has more public holidays! What Wilayah day lah, Awal Muharram lah, Agong's Birthday lah, 2 days for Hari Raya, we get only one day in SG. Total PH in SG is 11 days only!

What am I going to do during this long weekend leh?

Sorry guys and gals, I know I should be blogging about my Bali trip - day 3.
But I miss my friend Telly so much, so I decided to blog about her today.

Telly came to Malaysia on 27th March to visit James. They are in long distance relationship, 'pooi fook'! Me and my dear are in 'not so' long distance relationship (SG and MY are so near, in fact, there are only separated by a river), and I am already traveling like half dead.
This was her first trip to Malaysia. She is a Hongkie, my first Hong Kong friend! James, thank you for introducing her to me, she is nice and pretty. I miss her so much!!! And I am sure you miss her more than I do...

James, Telly, John, CCW and I met in Fatty Crab restaurant. We were happily eating crabs and chicken wings when some of you were in the dark for the Earth Hour thingy. :P
After the crab session, we went to Old Town cafe because we decided to let her try something which is very 'Malaysian style'. In the whole "yum cha" session, we were busy talking about make up because she is an make up artist! Telly, thank you for sharing so many make up tips with me!

After knowing her, I realized that I am really bad in Cantonese. I did not even know Thank You in Cantonese, 'mm koi' and 'toh jeh' have different meaning. I thought they were the same!!! And I always say "lei oi mou" (do u want?), "hou sek mou" (taste nice?), just donno why I kept on using the word "mou". Then they corrected me. I should say "lei yew mm yew ah?" (do u want?) and "hou mm hou sek ah?" (taste nice?)..... But Telly found the way we speak Cantonese is cute!

Bali Day 2 - Night

Dinner time!
We were brought to a chinese restaurant in a very high class shopping mall. Forgot the name of the mall, but probably more 'high class' than The Gardens or Pavilion. Why? Because I found that all the things are sold in USD and the cheapest thing I saw there is cup noodles (USD$1 per cup). Branded bags, watches are being displayed everywhere in the mall without being locked in the displayed cabinet.

Okay, back to the restaurant.
We are waiting for our food... Over heard conversations from the next table. There are Taiwanese. Although there are only 6 of us, but we were given a table that can fit probably 12 persons! Look at the gap between me and my dear...

The restaurant is big and I think the interior design was based on Mongolia style.

Bali trip -Day two (Celuk)

After the Barung and Keris dance.
Our next destination was Celuk - Gold and Silver at work. A place that the tourists' throat can be chopped easily (means they sell the things in a higher price to tourist). They claimed that all the silver decorative and jeweleries are all handmade, but i saw only one lady worker who was "making" the jeweleries...

This the the lady worker that I was referring to. I suspected she was hired for tourist to take photos only.

I think this is definitely not her work loh... shshsh.... Maybe I should not judge her like that. I am sorry...

I don remember the price. But I remember that they are selling a simple silver chain for USD100. With USD100 I think I can buy a pair of small gold ear rings or a tiny pendant...

I think this is a house and not a temple...
I cant really differentiate which is house and which is temple even after staying there for days!
They looked the same, it is confusing...

There was a bombing in 2004 @ Matahari which killed 20 ppl, the place is 15minutes walking distance from our hotel.

The hotel is only 4 stories...

Out welcome drink - orange juice. The hotel Logo is orange in color, their decorations also mostly in orange color. An Orange hotel...

Lunch is not included in out tour package on the first day. We found a Balinese-chinese stall near our hotel. We had our lunch there, found out that the owner of the stall speak chinese, therefore we had our suppers there on subsequent days...

Babi Guling - not the authentic one, we have no time to try the authentic one as it is very far from where we stayed, so we tried it in hawker stall only.

Authentic Korean food?

Dear took me to SOHO KL 2 weeks ago because I told him that I want to try authentic Korean food which is served with side dishes. I have not tried any 'proper' Korean food before this, only tried KimChi noodle from food court only, ya, I know what are you thinking (I am the katak di bawah tempurung). So, when we arrived SOHO KL, we saw this Korean restaurant, and decided to walk in. Ordered 2 bowls of noodles with warm soup, and one KimChi pancake. Did not order any drinks as cold water is served for free!

It was a bit stuffy. Dear and I started sweating even before we could finish our food.
I can't imagine when this place is crowded with customer steamboat-ing.
We were the only 2 customers in the shop, and it was during lunch time, so conclusion? - Food not nice....

No wonder we got so many things for free!
Got 7 banchan (side dishes) for FREE!!! Free cold water and free dessert too!

I think I know why they call it warm soup, lol because it is tasteless, taste like warm water only. no salt, only eggs and some seaweed only. RM15

A "jia lat" girlfriend

Back to SG...
At work now... Today is not PH in SG.
Did not sleep well yesterday, thanks to the passenger (the jia lat gf) who slept at the lower deck (below me) in the train . She was ~~talking~~ lecturing her bf over the phone. I think she is a bit too much loh... Maybe she is fussy... or too sensitive... And the most important thing is, she did not consider that others cannot sleep when she lecture her bf happily...

Okay, the story is like this:
This lady is a Malaysian working in Singapore. But she does not travel as often as me :P
Her bf called her, informed her that he has already bought her the ticket she wanted (ticket from KL-SG). Then she started to make noise when she found out that the seat is not a single seat. Then she make louder noise when she found out that the seat is in the last row.
Hello, come on lah. It is already considered very lucky that she can get ticket. Really do not understand why she wants to complain.

Let me list out some of the points that she said:

Do u know who is doing to travel?
Do you know how tired is it for sitting in the bus for 6 hours?
Do you know how uncomfortable is it if some one u donno is sitting beside you for 6 hours?
You want to make me bounce my head by sitting in the last row?

Then, her bf must have saying some points, which I donno what was that. But, I guess the bf asked her to appreciate him for going all the way to puduraya to get her the bus ticket for her.

I know how difficult is it because I have been doing it every week! The traffic there is horrible, and have to double park there while waiting for the other person to go and get the ticket for you. Sometimes ended up stuck in the jam for hours...

And she continued this:

You want me to appreciate you for getting me the seat in the last row?
You want me to appreciate you for not getting me a single seater ticket?
Why don't we switch place?
Why last time everything you say OK, you can do it for me, now everything you say cannot, say not OK?
Not every weekend ma.

Then I think the bf apologize over the phone, and she said this:

Do you want to change? Or you are just saying it for the sick of saying?
What 3 months? Then after that you want to say bye bye and go?

Aiyoh...
I pity the bf ... Got such a "sai lei" girl friend. Donno how to appreciate what ppl do for her. She said it is very tiring when sitting in the bus for 6 hours. Hey, I am doing it every week, if you don't like to sit then mar sleep loh. Don't like to sit, then fly...
She said she will hit her head if she sit is the last row, at first I thought okay, maybe she is very tall. But who knows this morning when I saw her, she is barely 5 feet. Maybe only four feet eight nia.
She said it is not comfortable when a stranger is sitting beside her for 6 hours. I think the stranger (like me who sleep above her) will feel uncomfortable instead, because she snores so loudly at night! Okay, let's say she does not snore, but she will still disturb others by talking on the phone.

Behtahan......

p/s: I hope someone will appreciate that I travel every weekend... Cos I never complain that much...

Mc Donalds Extra Value meal for lunch...

I ordered Mc Spicy EXTRA Value Meal ~ SGD5.00 per set!!!!!

Value meh?
SGD5.00 * 2.4 = RM12.00 per set.

Malaysia's Mc Donalds Value set is only RM5.95 per set, but I don't think they have Mc Spicy for Value meal lah...

I normally don't carry much cash with me when I am in SG. I think maximum is 50 dollars...
I had 5 dollars in my wallet today (I was aware of this since yesterday, but I insisted not to go to the bank because I know I still can survive for another day with this 5 dollars), and I used up that 5 dollars for my lunch, and it means I don't even have a single cent in my wallet now. Got to go to the bank to withdraw some money tonight. I don't really need cash in SG, as long as my Ez-link card (Similar to Touch n Go, mainly used for transport fare) is topped up with some credits. If lets say I need to buy food later, I can go to any 7-11 or Mc Donalds, I can pay using my Ez-Link card. Cashless transactions...
Worse comes to worst then mar use credit card lor...

Spending Ringgit is more enjoyable compare to spending in dollars...
One more day to go......

I still prefer Pizzahut!
Btw, I am going to try Monaco Pizza or Pizza Uno this coming Saturday.

What I did last weekend

Friday night - Reached KL around 2.30am!!! Thanks to the accident in AYE that made my bus caught in the jam for one hour. What to do? All the drivers are too "CONCERN" about the accident, everyone drove slowly to see what happened. Dear picked me up then we went for a drink so that we can catch up with each other on what happened when I was in SG while he was in KL. After that he sent me home but that was not the end of my day yet. I was unable to fall asleep, maybe because I drank Ice Tea, and the caffeine was doing their job... So, I continued to read the book that I was reading, My sister's keeper by Jodi Picoult. And finally I fell asleep around 6am...

Saturday - Woke up at 8.30am. Means I slept for 2 1/2 hours only. T___T
Then drove mama out for breakfast. After that prepared lunch and played with Asher (the boy whom my mom babysits). Next, went to do hair rebonding - 5 hours!!! Meet dear at night after he finished work. Then we went to sing 'K' until 3.30am. End of my Saturday...

Sunday - Woke up around 12.00pm. Had a 8 hours good night sleep, so I was not as moody as Saturday morning. Had breakfast with dear, then we went to Ikano, he wanted to get me a pair of CROCS, but they don't have the size that I wanted. So, did not buy. Then, dear sent me home before he went to work. Reached home around 4pm, surfed net and prepared salad for dinner. Papa sent me to KL Sentral after dinner. But the bad news is, the train was delayed for 2 hours!!! argghhh..... Nvm, I had my book with me. Around 11.20pm, the train finally arrived. After 3 hours of waiting, I was feeling a bit tired already. When I was entering the coach with my 2 super heavy bags, I lost my balance and stepped on the gap... luckily I did not fall. I was able to grab something, I forgot what I grabbed, probably the door knob or some bars near the door. Due to my clumsy-ness, I have got myself a blue-black mark on on right arm. T____T

Ok lah... Not that serious actually.... Just a little bit of blue-black nia...

Monday - I was late to work lor, what else? Reached office @ 10.45am only. Thanks to KTMB!!!

My valentine's day...

My valentine's day gift from him...

No flowers, no chocolates...
No dinner as well since he was to work. But I had dinner with my family members in Jogoya.
But wait, that was not all. Other than the Goldclass movie tickets, he bought me a few more things too, and they are all from GUESS!!! But small small things only...... Like key chain, note pad, coin purse, and small recycle bag with lots of pink 'G' printed on it, and one super big black bag with the big triangle GUESS logo on it. No photos...

To be honest, dear ar, I dont really like that two bags lor... I wonder when will I use them. Probably when I have kids, then I will use them to put milk powder, flask, warmer, and diapers... :P Sorry, I am sure you will feel sad when you read this. Can I choose what I want next time? Like you chose CROCS as your Valentine day's gift, I bought 2 pairs some more, you must be very happy right?

I had a great Valentine's day. It was the first time we watch movie in this so called Platinum Movie Suites. So, it was a memorable Valentine's day for us. Thanks dear!!!
The Seats are fully adjustable with the recline button at the side of the seat. Call buttons are located at the table on the corner of the seat. There are only 24 seats in the movie suite. But too bad I did not bring my camera!!! I thought it was going to be a normal movie session for us. Dim Cee... he bought the Goldclass. But he seemed like enjoying the seat so much, I think we will go there again, and I will make sure I bring my camera with me if we ever go there again.

I miss you so much!!!
I am coming back tonight! See ya...

Valentine's day @ Jogoya

Had dinner in Jogoya with my family members on Valentine's day, without dear again, he was working. We have made our reservation 3 weeks in advance. We reserved a table for 9 persons @ 7pm. At 7pm, we went to the counter and informed them that we will be late for 10 minutes as my parents were late. The gal said ok. Then when my parents arrived, we went to the counter again, but we need to re-queue and there were quite a number of customers in front of us. So, we waited for like 10 minutes.
When it was our turn, it was around 7.20pm. You know what the guy said? Sorry your reservation is 7pm, you are late, we have to cancel your reservation.
Of cos we shoot back lah, I said:" We came on time, we informed that gal that we will be 10 minutes late, she said ok." Then the guy started to speak in foreign language with his colleague, and showed his "not syiok" expression to us. But we don't care, we made the reservation and we informed them we will be late. They can't cancel our reservation, right? He had no choice, but to give us a table. In fact, there are some customers who did not make any reservation, but came early, and the stuff promised to put them under waiting list. That's why they tried to cancel our table, and give it to those who were under waiting list. This is not fair for those who called few weeks in advance, came all the way far town, right? They should call the customers who are late, ask them whether they are coming, or inform them before the reservation is being canceled.

For drinks, I had at least 3 glasses of red wine, and 3 more glasses of cocktail. I hope what I have eaten that day worth what I have paid for...... If not, rugi ma...
In fact, I should name this post title something like "How a cheapskate eat in Jogoya..." which I think can attract more hits for my blog :P

Valentine's day is just around the corner...
You do not have to remember the date, but you will be reminded...

When you go shopping, you can see tons of Toblerone chocolates with it's valentine's day packaging everywhere especially in Watsons and Supermarkets and you know Valentine's days is coming.
Even when you are at home stalking your favorite blogs, you will see a lot of advertorials on Toblerone Chocolates. Do you think those 'famous' bloggers really buy Toblerone chocolates for their lover? Maybe they only give those FREE Toblerone chocolates from the advertiser to their lover. Agree? They earn $$$ by writing advertorial, I am sure they will buy better gifts...

Why only Toblerone ads? Ferrero Rocher, where are yours?

Girls out there, will you be happy if u get Chocolates or flowers as your Valentine's day gift?
For me...
I am not a chocolates lover. Flowers can't last long and I don't like fake flowers.
I think it is better to ask your lover what he/she need/want instead of wasting money buying something that he/she might not like.

Lonely Sunday

I was in SG last weekend. Decided to stay here for one weekend after a long break in KL. Time to DETOX after eating so many fried food and oily food during CNY. Chloe was sick, so she was unable to accompany me on Sunday. But must thank her for willing to accompany me on Saturday although she was not feeling well.
I woke up around 10 am. Had some biscuits and a cup of instant mushroom soup for breakfast. Then I went to the temple as usual (I go to temple whenever I spend my weekend in SG). After that went for lunch alone, food is tasteless when eating alone and that's why I ordered Tom Yam so that at least I can taste something spicy. And I was right! The tomyam soup there is super spicy, and they put "Fatt fong kam" (kaffir lime) in the soup. Yummy! Will definitely go back for their TomYam soup or fish soup!
Then went to Bugis Junction, tried to hunt for Valentine's day present. But mission failed! Saw very nice Casio watches, and the price is reasonable too, did not buy because I know dear wants a Omega watch and not Casio, Cyma, or Seiko watch. Getting a Omega watch for him is like a mission impossible to me, since I am so stingy. Right? But hor, I don't mind getting a Casio watch as a gift.
After that I went to Vivo. Started to hunt for his present again. Walked from 3pm to 8pm but did not buy anything! But at least I decided what to get for him - another pair of CROCS but different design this time (he requested it). I did not buy it in Vivo because to get it in Malaysia is cheaper, and as Chinese, I very 'pantang larang' wan, cannot buy shoes during CNY wan... why? Cos it sounds "hai" (Sigh...) in Cantonese, and it will bring you bad luck for that year.

I need some info here, is there any CROCS shop near Lot 10 area? Kindly let me know if u ever seen one there.

I eat a lot! And my meal portion has to be big, I can eat more than my dear. Sound scary huh? I like bland food. Sushi, salad, steamboat are my favorites! And I like Bak Kut Teh too!
I am stingy! Kiamsiap! Cheapskate! I save save and save my money. But I am very happy when I am spending someone else's money... I only buy things which I need, I do not simply buy things that I want.
My boss asked me one day. "Why are u so stingy?" I said :" I am saving for rainy days boss". Boss replied: " Means you only spend during rainy days???" Me: "......"
I am a Malaysian working in Singapore who "Balik Kampung" every week! You can ask me questions on which bus to take, which is the cheapest, from where to where, and how's the bus schedule like. I love reading. But, I am too kiamsiap to buy magazines and books. I buy books from warehouse sales and my colleague Fina is my book supplier now, she passes books that she has read to me. My magazines supplier? hehehe, thanks to my dear, who buys me magazines on monthly basis.
I am not sure about my marital status... But I think I will know it by the end of this year.
I like to snap photos! But I am not good in it and I do not have a good camera.
I love to go to Nature parks because it's FREE ADMISSION and I can snap photos and exercise at the same time!
My ambition? You are not going to believe this. It's to be a successful housewife! A housewife who can cook well, babysit well, and of course to take care of her husband well too.
I am very proud of my dear. Not because he is handsome or what. I am very very very proud of him because he lost weight. He lost not only 1-2 kg nor 5-10 kg, but he lost more than 50kg!!! He was 123kg years ago, and he is now 60-65kg only. He "gam fei" just because he wants to look good in our wedding photos! I am proud of him!
Okay! The last one! I love my family members! I cannot live without them. And of course this includes my dear! Muaxx! Love you all!

People gather in front of the stage and pray together. After prayers, everyone will get a small bag of rice. The rice has to be poured into the rice bin at home.

Not only me, in fact everyone in the temple is wearing the blue shower cap. This is a good idea, prayers do not have to take out their shoes, they don't have to worry about their new shoes will get stolen, and it won't dirty the floor...

My one and the only family outing during CNY...

Visited Dong Zen Temple in Jenjarom with my family members, Kyanne's friends and auntie Evyce's family last Saturday. We started our journey around 4pm from my house(as early as possible to avoid jam). It was raining heavily during the journey. We had dinner in one of the seafood restaurants that recommended by Ah Xian- Astro AEC. Not going to blog about the food here, the food so so only, not up to my expectations, and the place is quite dirty. We continued our journey after dinner.

Reached Dong Zen Temple around 7.30pm. A good time to snap photos...

Met up with Edward Boey for dinner on Thursday night. Thank you so much for taking me to Solaris!!! I have tried to go there twice but I couldn't find the place. I thought it is a shopping mall because Fina told me that her friend has opened a shop there, selling designer bags. But the place is more like a MAKAN place for me, full of restaurants! The famous Japanese Buffet TENJI is there, I tried to make reservations for Valentine's day, but it has been fully booked! Nvm, booked Jogoya, even better! lol

After we had our dinner at sushi king, Edwards gave me a treat on dessert! We went to Dessert Bar @ Mont Kiara. Thank you ya... Next time my turn pulak, k???

k k k, not going to write so much, I am feeling a bit dizzy now, I think I am gonna to fall sick soon, went to the clinic, but it was closed during lunch time. Will try again later...

What do u do during CNY?
Visit relatives' house? Visit friend's house? Go out with friends?
My CNY == stay at home and visit blogs...

I am so lazy, just feel like staying at home. Wake up at noon, eat, watch TV, surf net, take nap... these are what i do before DEAR finish work, it sounds like a pig's routine right? I only get to go out at night, oppps, suppose to be midnight, after DEAR finishes his work.

Taking parents out for lunch later. Yum cha with Edward tonight if he does not ffk.
Today is already "chor sei", I must go somewhere before I go back to SG.

Monday night, I wish I can stay for "bai tin gong", but I am heading back to SG on Sunday night. This year is the third year I spend my "chor batt" night in SG. I wish next year I can spend my "chor batt" night in Malaysia for "Bai tin gong"...

kkk, signing off now, mama says she is hungry. Need to get ready and take them out for lunch now.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Wishing all of you to have a great OX year!
Had a great family reunion lunch yesterday afternoon. Mom prepared lots of dishes - chicken, duck, roasted pork, abalone soup, veggies... Dear did not join us for reunion lunch this year because he needed to work. He dropped by to send hamper only, and headed to work after that.

CNY - Eat , eat and eat only. I did not drink any plain water yesterday. I drink soft drinks, pineapple juice and chinese tea only. With all the nice beverages, i totally forgot about plain water! I know this is very bad, but I will try to remind myself to drink more plain water.

I also had reunion dinner with my dear. He reached home around 11.30pm yesterday, 30minutes before "chor yat". We had steamboat, auntie prepares steamboat every year for reunion dinner. I love the soup that she prepares. Taste 'sweet'.

After dinner, it was Ang Paos time!!! No, we did not give, but we got ang paos from his parents. lol

Chloe wanted to buy Chi Phiang, so we went to Fu Lo Shou Complex near Bugis. Found the Chi Phiang in one of those 'Hoi mei' shop. Saw all kinds of dried things like sea cucumber, dried abalones, all types of nuts, sour plums, sweets, herbal....... But she bought 500 grams of Chi Phiang only. And I did not buy anything since mama said she has already bought a lot. OK, 'han fan'. After that we walked to BHG. I was thinking of getting a new shirt for my dear, but then none of them attracted me, so I decided to buy it in Malaysia - Cheaper. Then we went to have Kimchi Ramen for dinner.

Catching a 8pm bus tonight. Yeah! Josephine is heading back to KL tonight. Can wait to see her boy boy, and her beloved family members. For those who are traveling back to home town, have a safe trip ya...

One in my house, another in my dear's house... I want to go to the temple. I want to welcome the God of Wealth. I want to eat Bak Kua, mandarin oranges, biscuits, Nian Gao, Peanuts.......

CNY checklist:-

New clothes - Bought quite a lot this year
New shoes - mom bought me a pair of sport shoes, i think i need to get a pair flats or heels
New Hair style - Too stingy to do rebonding. But my dear ordered Philips Hair curler + Straightener for me... Yeah!
Ang pao - Don't expect ang paos from me, I am not married! But I am expecting ang paos from those who are married.
Reunion Dinner - Hmmm, considered gao tim. Already bought Abalone, 'cong xiong dim'?
Gathering - I will be lonely, family members going for a short trip. My dear will be working. Maybe I should follow my family for the short trip... For those who are free, find me yum cha ok?
House hopping - Not going to do that lah. Feel shame. It is like begging ppl for ang paos...
Food - Ya, going to eat non-stop! For sure will gain at least 2 kgs...

Haiyah, Gam fei after CNY only! I am going to enjoy myself during this coming CNY! 9 days OFF! YEAH!

My old special edition Ez-Link Card

My new Ez-Link Card. Why can't I have the Pink one instead of this donno green or blue color

This Ez-Link card is something like Touch and Go card that we use in Malaysia. It is a stored value ticket for use on the MRT, LRT and the buses. Other than that, this card can be used in some restaurants like Mc D, Subway, Sakae Sushi, Old Chang Kee..... Good rite? Cashless... If we have this system in Malaysia, do u think it helps to cut down the snatch cases?

I replaced my Ez-link last week as they are having free replacement exercise. But they are only giving out BLUE cards in the bus interchange near my house. I saw some of the people using Pink cards. Why can't they give Blue card to male and Pink card to female? Or why can't they let us choose the color that we prefer? I want the Pink one... Or shall I pay $15 to buy a Pink Card? NOooooo..... Stingy Josephine does not simply spend money... I need only one card.

Note: Anyone got the Pink one? Wanna exchange? :P

Wonderful weekend...

Thanks dear for giving me a wonderful weekend. Going out with dear on Saturday afternoon is something considered very special to us. Why? You guys are not going to believe that we never go 'pak toh' on Saturday afternoon after being together for years. Normally I will either spend my Saturdays staying at home or go out with friends. But, yesterday afternoon I received his call, he asked me to get ready, he will be picking me up in 30 minutes time. I was so excited after answering his call, I stopped whatever I was doing (yes, I was working from home on Saturday!), headed to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Dear picked me up and then we went to settle his personal matters first, somewhere near my house. Some documents need to be signed by him, that's why he has to come all the way from Shah Alam to KL to sign those documents, and because of that, we had a chance to meet up on Saturday afternoon for lunch. Although it was only 2 hours, but still I felt very happy.

At night, after he finished work, it was already past 12.30 am. We went to Cineplex and bought 2 tickets for IP MAN. While waiting for the show to begin, we went for drinks. Before this we normally go mamak or sing K on Saturday night, we thought most of the cinemas will be closed by the time he finish work. We never knew that Cineplex open till 2.30am on weekends and because of that we go to the cinema 2-3 times yearly nia. When I reached home it was already 4.30am, but I still not feeling sleepy, continued playing my PSP until 5.30am.

Woke up around 11am this morning, had lunch with dear. He has now gone to work again, and I am packing up, getting ready to go back to SG tonight. arghhh... I don' t feel like going back to SG, I want to stay in KL. Nvm, I am coming back to KL for 9 days during CNY. 5 more days to go only... Just 5 more days... Be patient!

I think this one is cheap. 5 for $6 bottles only.

Chinese New Year Light Up @ Chinatown

Jalan Jalan in Chinatown with Chloe again last Thursday. Went there because we heard that there are 600 stalls selling CNY products. Being cheated d. Where got 600 stalls? At most mar 200 stalls only. And the things that they sell are very expensive. SGD$6.00 per 500 grams of 'Gua ci' (Sun Flower seeds), crazy!
The main purpose we went there is to check the prices out. This coming CNY going to be my third CNY in SG. For the past two years, the prices dropped like crazy 2-3 days before the first day of Chinese new year. Taiwan 'Mua chi' price at SGD$1.80 per 100 grams at first, ended up you only need to pay SGD$3.00, then the seller will give you one plastic bag, just fill the plastic bag up with the "mua chi" on your own!!! You can grab as many as you want, as long as they can be fitted into the plastic bag. I won't buy anything there now, will wait till last minute. lol What to do, 'Giam Siap" ma...

My First Nuffnang Cheque......

After months of blogging, at last I got my first cheque from Nuffnang! Although the amount is not much, but something is better than nothing...
I have cashed out my earnings from Nuffnang website on 12 Nov. After nearly 2 months of waiting. I received the cheque at last! And HSBC sent me the payment advice on Monday to my email.

The Art Of Tea Tasting

No, my dear and I are not PRO in Chinese tea. But, he does has a collection of Tea leaves. I know how to drink only. lol
We used to have Tea Tasting Sessions when we are free. I miss those Tea Tasting sessions!
Dear ar, when can we have the next Tea Tasting session?

OK, briefly show you guys how we prepare the tea. We might have left out some of the steps, as I mentioned, we are not PRO, we are learners.

Clean all 'utensils' - preferably with hot water

Put some tea leaves into the tea pot, and pour boiling water over the tea leaves

Pour the tea out almost immediately - the main purpose of doing this is to clean the tea leaves without 'washing' away it's taste

Use the 'first round' tea to clean all the 'utensils' again

Pour boiling water over the tea leaves again (second round).

Wait for one minute before pouring out the 'second round' tea from the tea pot to the 'tea leaves filter'.

Remove the 'tea filter' from the tea jug

Pour the tea into tea cups

Ready to serve....

Friends and relatives are getting married one after another. Lots of them already taken their Pre-Wedding shoots, booked Hotels or restaurants for the dinner, most importantly their wedding dates have been set. I wonder where and when my wedding ceremony will be held.

Attended Khean Hoe's wedding dinner with my family members yesterday. It was such a nice scene seeing all relatives are eating and 'yum seng' together. Handsome groom and beautiful bride, Hoe and Yen, wish both of you a great happiness of life and living happily ever after.
