    Happy New Year

I think I am getting older. I can't recall where was I on the last new year eve...
Hmm, probably I was having supper with my dear in one of the mamak stalls. or I was traveling from SG - KL? At least I spent my New Year Eve in KL...

But this year, I am celebrating it alone, in front of the TV and in SG! And guess what? I have no plans on New Year's day! Most of my friends have gone back to KL for a long weekend. Leaving me alone here. Impossible for Dear to come over because he has to work, and he has no OFF day until the mid of March!!! I don't blame him because I know he works hard to give me a better future. Ganpahteh, Dear!

I still owe Dear his Christmas gift! Try to hunt for his present tomorrow... Before that will go to temple first, then SHOPPING! Again :P

Josephine wishes everyone Happy New Year!!!

Fo Ya Shi - Buddha Tooth Relic Temple @ Chinatown, Singapore

You can call me 'superstitious'. Yes, I admit that I love to pray, I love to visit temples.......
As I mentioned in one of my old posts, I go to temple whenever I stay in SG for weekend. Why? Maybe because I did not put any Buddha's statue in my room, and I feel guilty for not praying. Back home in KL, I used to pray daily. At least once before I go to work.
Visited Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown weeks ago, while I was waiting for Chloe to do her medical checkup. I only took photos on the structure of the building. Did not take photos of any statue because I believe that considered not paying 'respect' to the Buddha. There are a lot of different statues in the temple, and they are all 'Gold coated'. The temple is air-conditioned, and joss-sticks are not allowed in the temple. You can only offer the joss-sticks before entering to the temple hall.

"The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum is a living cultural monument in the heart of Chinatown housing what Buddhist leaders regard as the Sacred Buddha Tooth Relic in a magnificent Relic Stupa composed of 420kg of gold donated by devotees. Everyday the inner chamber will be unveiled at stipulated timings in a ceremony conducted by resident monks and the public can view the Relic Stupa."

    My Christmas Presents ...

I have never bought myself any Christmas gift before. But this year I bought myself something.
I got myself a set of Clinique Moisture Surge...

Got this Limited Edition Dior Night Diamond - Christmas 2008 collection from my dear

I like the casing. Bling Bling...
Once finished, it can be used as a compact mirror

An iridescent veil of powder laced with shimmer for an all-over glow. I wonder when can I use this. I don't go clubbing. Not much dinner for me to attend (oh ya, there is one next week). and... I don't wear makeup to work... But, anyway, thanks darling...

Got this Nike shoes from my mom, thanks mama...

err.... actually this one not my Christmas present. Went shopping with ah boy and mama yesterday, and I bought 2 pairs of Levis jeans for CNY, and... I am broke now...

    Merry Christmas

    Rainy morning...
What a nice weather to sleep...
It started raining since midnight, don't ask me the time it started to rain... I was sleeping like a pig...

Landlord and his family members are going for vacation today. So, I will be alone at home these 2 days, scary leh. Such a big house, leaving me alone. I am staying in a 5-rooms flat, OK?
Low crime doesn't mean no crime
Sound familiar? These sentence is printed on banners and they are being hung near housing area to remind residents to be extra careful.
Uncle kept on reminding me to lock the door properly. Don't leave my keys in the room and lock myself outside the room. He has also prepared spare keys in the living room just in case.

Thank you, uncle. Enjoy your holiday!

    Hey guys,

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A day out @ Orchard Road

So, what is the best cure for a broken heart?
EAT + SHOPPING = The best medicine for a broken heart?

Ya, Chloe, Jie Er and I went for abalone!!!
But did not feel better also after eating...

Want some free hugs to make u feel better?
No..... I did not hug him. Not ever!

    Shopaholic Josephine.
I think I will be happier or cure faster if I swipe the 'given' cards...

Queuing up to enter COACH, time to swipe card!!!
Ya, in Singapore u need to queue in order to enter branded shop like LV, Gucci, Coach.....
Unlike in Malaysia ones, not much people dare to walk in even if the entrance is open widely. I did not buy lah. But I spotted something I like. 'To whom it might be concerned' , 'the one who is going to buy me the bag', FYI, the Coach bag is actually cheaper than the wallet that you bought for me!!! Now, I know what I want for Valentine's day already, hehehe....

After hours of walking, we went for coffee @ Mc Cafe.

    Flu Virus hit me today...

    Achew!!! Achew!!! Achew!!!
Kept on sneezing when I woke up this morning.
Sneezed when I was taking shower, sneezed when I was on my way to work. Sneezed in the office.
I almost finished using the whole box of tissues.
Went to the doctor. Doctor said it is due to allergic, and I have low blood pressure.
I asked about the scalp numbness thing. The doctor said it might be a phenomenon of Migraine or maybe I am too stressful/tired. She asked me to rest more.

    Okay......
    Saturday and Sunday---- Shopping days....
I want to snap lots of photos, and hunt for good food with my 'makan Kaki'.
    Happy Weekends!

    Heavy Workload...

The feeling of scalp numbness strikes me again.
Am I too stressful or is there any other reasons for this?
Lots of work lately. 24 hours a day seems not enough for me.
I am always the first one who arrives office, and the last one who leave office as well.
Due to my heavy workload, I decided to "reward" myself, hmmm, maybe I should go eat some good food, or buy something nice for myself.
Wish I am in KL, so that I can go for facial or massage which is in RM.

    Counting days again......

    16days more to go......

    Counting days...

    The Merlion @ One Fullerton

    Josephine is counting the days...
She hopes she can goes back to Malaysia as often as last time (weekly basis).

The next 3 weeks, I will be staying in SG only. I am lucky to have a good friend Chloe, who is always my photographer, sight seeing 'kaki', and also 'makan kaki'. We are planning to go to a few places during the next two weekends. Places like Marina Barrage, Orchard Road to see Christmas decors and lights, some nature parks, or maybe Mont Faber. Chloe, I will provide you Sun-Block, so you can't complaint now...

I started to have scalp numbness lately. I think I am too tired + Stressful. Will try to relax myself since I am not going back to KL. How? I guess 'Jalan Jalan cari makan' helps. But hor, can someone tell me, how to relax in this Hectic country leh?

Christmas is just around the corner so I need to do some shopping. Arghh... shopping means spending money... Hope I can get nice things at cheap price during this Singapore year end sale.

    Singapore PR

    My Singapore IC...

Yup, I am now a Singapore PR. It took about 7 weeks for my application to be approved. From now onwards, I can use Singapore Passport lanes in checkpoints, instead of queuing up in All Passport lanes for more than 1 hour on peak hours.
I got my chinese name printed on my IC! But I know I look fat and old in that photo. Paid SGD$200.00 for the whole application. The IC itself costs me SGD$50.00. Feeling'Heart pain' now.

    Getting PR == CPF deduction!!!

Paid so much for the application, and now monthly income also got to include CPF deduction, and bus ticket are 30% more expensive compare to last time due to the fuel surcharge thing. Used to go all the way to Johor to take bus from there to KL, which the bus tickets are sold in RM. Since I have just changed my job, I can only buy expensive bus tickets which are sold in SGD!!! Cannot afford to go back on weekly basis anymore. Sigh... cannot go back KL that often is due to the work load in the new company too. Thought of having a great long weekend in Malaysia. But, I need to work from home during this weekend...
    sigh...

Singapore Version of Mill Wheel ...

Mil Wheel - Snow in Malaysia

Singapore - Green Tea Snow with Fresh Mango and Aloe vera...

Tried this Green Tea Snow in one of the shop near Parkway Parade on the day I went to East Cost Park. The owner of this shop thought I never try this, he got so surprised when i told him that we have similar thing in Malaysia. (Ahem... only Singapore can have this meh? Malaysia also got lah! Mill wheel has got own Mascot some more, got branches some more...)

So, which one is nicer? Singapore Snow nicer or Pao Bing nicer?

Price wise, Singapore -$4.00 (served in plate with fresh mangoes and aloe vera), Malaysia- RM9.90 (served in a mini wok with lots of choc rice, choc chips and corn flake and biscuits).

Taste wise, I prefer Singapore one, can really taste the Green tea flavor. Unlike the one I had in Pao Bing, the Lychee snow was tasteless.

So, which one do u like?

    Back to normal ...

Ya, I am back to Singapore.
Back to the boring routine. Wake up, go to work, go home, sleep...
Back to the boring life. No breakfast, no dinner, cannot meet my boy boy, cannot see my parents, no driving, lots of walking...

I am extremely busy these two days. Lots of work to be done after spending one week in KL.
Thank you Celine for TAGGING me. Will try to update it in the next post.

    Sigh...
Thought of having a long weekend this week.
But most probably need to work on Saturday!!! I have already bought ticket for Friday leh!!!
I think the whole December I will be staying in SG only.
But nvm, lots of ppl coming to SG to celebrate Christmas, I should be glad that I am already in SG. hehehe...

    WU LU Gourd

I love Wulu. I am quiet superstitious.
Wulu, a.k.a wulou in Cantonese, which I believe is a symbol of the Buddha. This symbol is thought to bring Financial Help, Compassion and Joy to those it surrounds. Wulu attracts good 'qi' and against the bad ones.

I also have a mini Wulu as my lucky charm. Thinking of getting a WULU shape pendant. :P

    Working from home ...

Yes. I am still in KL. Working from home. Feeling very happy, can work from home, can see my "boy boy" daily, can eat my mom's cooking, and going for Bak Kut Teh tonight!

Mom also feeling very happy that I am staying for few more days. She prepares a lot of food for me, double boiled soup for me, keep on feeding me food. Thanks ma!

I got a feeling that, I might get a chance to stay in KL till the end of this week. It sound like a good news. But, my six sense tells me that I might not get a chance to come back next month, not even every fortnight needless to say weekly. Christmas is around the corner, getting the bus or train ticket is another problem for me.

Although I am working from KL, never get any chance to go shopping. Start work at 9.00am, finish around 9.oopm too. Tonight got to go to Puduraya, need to get my CNY bus ticket before it is sold out. Got to know from Chloe that, the bus ticket price is double for Chinese new year!!! Aikss...

    East Coast Park - SG

Chloe, Iris and I went to East Coast Park few weeks ago. It was raining season. We were so lucky that it was not raining when we visited the place.
East Coast Park is the largest park in Singapore. It is build on a reclaimed land with 'imported' sand, and coconut trees. It has a cycling track runs along the perimeter of the park, which measures at least 20 km long. Bicycles rental rate - $5 for two hours, and get a bottle of mirenal water for free.
We cycled for two hours, it was so tiring. But, the bicycle that I got that day was a slighty 'better' one compare to the one I got in Pulau Ubin.
The park is a popular place for families and friends to relax and enjoy themselves.

    Some photos here......

    Bye Bye - The Koi

Whenever I spend my weekend (Sunday) in Singapore, I normally go to my boss's house. He is a really nice guy, and he cooks very well. But, don't expect 'authentic' Chinese food from him, because he can only cook Indian Chinese food.
Why? What is Indian Chinese Food?
The story is like this. I was having a very bad cough few weeks ago. He cooked "look mei" soup for me. "Look mei" soup can be either salty and sweet right? But, he cooked the "look mei" soup with pork, curry leave, and rock sugar... So, it was like sweet and salty "look mei" soup with curry leaves... lol

Went to his house again last Sunday. Found out that the water of the fish pond was very dirty, so I suggested him to clean the fish pond. So, he turned on the drain pump and we went to the kitchen and prepare our dinner. We forgot about the draining thing! When we realized, the pond has only 10% water left. He quickly turn on the tap to refill the water. But the big Koi already became very 'lazy', it was moving very slowly. And it died yesterday morning!

    Bye Bye the Koi fish...

Hmm, maybe will ask my boss to buy fish spa fishes, since he has a pond. Then I can come for often for fish spa. lol

    Dim Sum @ Sri Petaling

Tried Sri Petaling's Dim Sum for the very first time with my family members during my Raya holiday few weeks ago. The 'Gai wo pao' is their signature. When we reached Sri Petaling, we saw a few Dim Sum shops with the 'Gai Wo Pao' banner. All of them seem like claiming themselves as the 'Original' one. We are not sure whether we ate in the 'authentic' shop or not, lol.

    Wong Kam Pao (Golden pao)

Golden Pao is stuffed with BBQ pork ...

    gai wo pao

The 'gai wo pao' is actually pao with 'loh mai gai' stuffing

    My first KL-SG train experience...

I took train from KL to SG last Sunday for the very first time after 2 years of traveling by weekly basis. The train journey is 2x more than bus journey, but I dont mind because I can sleep during the journey. I bought the berth type. I did not sleep well because the train stopped almost in every state, and also I heard people snoring! But I believe I will get use to it soon, I think I will continue travel by train because it saves my time. I can sleep in the train, by the time I wake up I am already in Singapore and can head to the office straight away. Although it is very tiring!

Waiting for departure in KL Sentral

On the way to my coach...

Jeng Jeng! me and my PINK toes @ the berth...

I was at the upper deck of the berth. This is how it looks in the train.
